GULFSTREAM PARK RACING AND CASINO HALLANDALE BEACH

Located just south of Hallandale Beach Blvd on US1 in Hallandale Gulfstream Park is a large shopping, food, casino, and racing haven. It's a great place to escape to for adult or family time.

Gulfstream Park has changed drastically over the years and is still changing. Watching and betting on the horse races are a sort of past time for me. My grandfather used to take me here and I loved it so I decided to take my kids.

It was the first time I have been back in about 20 years. My daughter is a horse fanatic. She was super excited to go and her little brother is in the copy his sister stage so he was excited just because she was! I wasn't sure what to think.

I must say this place is beautiful. It was a Friday afternoon in June and it was not crowded at all. At least not in the horse racing section. There is also a casino that I do not have information on at this time as my kids are not old enough to go in!

There were some pricey places to eat right around the horse races. There was also a whole other world of shopping and restaurants located once you walked past the racing and casino.

 We were only there for the racing, however, we will be back for dining and shopping experiences. The racing was a fun experience for the kids. Just the size of the place and the ambiance made my kids feel like they were somewhere special.

I think one of their favorite experiences was being able to get really close to these huge race horses. The area behind the race track on the way to the shopping was the best place to do this. Before each race they would bring all the horses their jockey's out in the area pictured above. The jockey's then mounted their horses and headed to the starting gates.

The above picture is where the horses next appear. This picture was taken from the stands. It said paid seating only, so I asked how much it was and they said just go on up. So we did. Here is a picture from before we went up the stairs.

And here are a few from after we went up and chose a seat to watch the races. Notice the beautiful view of Hallandale Beach from where we are.

It was just a really beautiful relaxing experience. If you have never been and enjoy being outside I would definitely recommend going at least once!

Next time I will try out one of the restaurants and do some shopping so that I can fill you in on that.
